Inspired by her studies at SANU, the Swiss Training Centre for Nature and Environmental Protection, 30 years ago, Sylvia Zurmühl internalised these principles and began producing her own care products when she moved to Greece in 1997. Connected to nature since her childhood, she deepened her knowledge of botany, alchemy and naturopathy. She was a committed conservationist and was particularly aware of the large number of endangered wild plants in Switzerland.
The rich diversity of plants in Greece motivated her to experiment exclusively with wild plants. She learned traditional plant knowledge from herbalists and studied ancient Greek recipes. She uses cold pressed organic olive oil as the base for her products, which she buys locally to ensure short transport routes and environmentally friendly production. As ACHALA natural products is based in Naoussa, a famous wine region in Northern Greece, her mother tinctures are made from organic grape distillate as wild herb extracts.
