ACHALA natural products is based on the principles of phytotherapy – the technical term for herbal medicine. ‘Phyto’ comes from the Greek and means ‘plant’. This healing method is the oldest in human history and forms the basis of modern medicine. It uses plant substances and plant preparations, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Ordinance on Complementary and Phytotherapeutic Medicinal Products (KPTPO).
Plant substances are unprocessed parts of plants that are used either fresh or dried. These include, for example, whole leaves, flowers or roots that have not been chemically treated or otherwise modified.

The basis for our self-stirred products is always nature. They do not require long transport routes and are processed at most twice. We do not use any synthetic or chemically processed additives.
OLEA EUROPEA FRUIT OIL BIO organic & cold-pressed Olive oil – Producer: Dionzsopoulou Panajota, Kalamata, local Certification: BIO & PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) in the European Union guarantee that the oil comes from a specific region and is produced according to specific standards.
Cold-pressing preserves all the important vitamins in the oil, giving it a better effect on the skin and a high content of protective antioxidants. Ingredients and effects of olive oil:

Our herbal oils and herbal ointments are produced using the cold process by pouring olive oil over the fresh plants and then leaving them at room temperature for 3 weeks, stirring the substance daily.
CERA ALBA BIO organic beeswax – Producer: Pitos Dimos, local
Beeswax is a wax secreted by honeybees and used to build honeycombs. The beekeeper regularly sorts out the old combs, keeping the hive clean and protecting the colony from pathogens, as the bees are always producing new combs.
In Greece, honey bees are not in competition with wild bees, as there are enough flowers for all of them.
Beeswax is used as a thickener and stabiliser in ointments and creams, it is kind to the skin and creates a delicate protective film on the skin that protects against moisture loss and the effects of the weather.
VITIS VINIFERA DESTILLATE BIO organic grape distillate – Producer: Dalamaras Kostis, local.
Grape distillate is a traditional Greek grape marc spirit made from the well-known Xinomavro grape variety from the Naoussa region. The first litres of the second distillate have an alcohol content of 70% and we use these herbs to make our mother tinctures:
Mother tinctures are added in small quantities, mainly as a natural preservative and to intensify the healing powers.
BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BIO organic & cold-pressed shea butter – Country: Senegal
Shea butter moisturises, rejuvenates the skin and increases elasticity. It soothes, nourishes and protects against external influences caused by harsh climates, pollution and UV radiation. Shea butter tar is mainly used in face creams.
LANOLIN anhydrous, pesticide-free wool wax – Country: Germany
Wool wax forms a protective film on the skin, binds moisture and prevents drying out. It has a high water absorption capacity for a stable water/oil emulsion in facial creams and ointments.
THEOBRAMA CACAO BIO organic cacao butter cold pressed. – Country: Ghana
Cocoa butter is rich in fatty acids, mainly omega-9 oil, protects against moisture loss and ensures softness and elasticity of the skin. Cocoa butter is particularly suitable for dry skin or chapped lips.
ROSE WATER Damask Rose – Manufacturer: Barbara Sakallari, local
Rose water provides the skin with valuable moisture for facial skin. Has a cleansing, astringent and firming effect. The antioxidant properties of rose water can help to alleviate the signs of ageing, especially when followed by an oil-based face cream.
ZEA MAYS BIO organic Corn Starch
Corn starch has an absorbent effect and reduces the greasiness in our deodorants.

Our products contain only pure essential oils, the most is organic or local. As we are aware of how many flowers or plant parts are needed for one drop of essential oil, we use them very sparingly. For allergy sufferers, the respective allergens of the essential oils are listed with the ingredients.
